M 74

M 74 is a large, low surface brightness spiral galaxy in Pisces at a distance of 32 MLY and is an example of a archetypal example of a grand design spiral galaxy with its two clearly defined spiral arms.

M 74 is a beautiful colorful galaxy with its clusters of young blue stars and red H11 regions scattered all over its spiral arms.
