NGC 1398


NGC 1398

NGC 1398 is a barred spiral galaxy in Fornax showing a double ring structure. This galaxy is 65 MLY distance and slightly larger than  the Milky Way.

There are many different types of background galaxies scattered in this field.

Field of view. 25 x 25 arc minutes.

Telescope.  16 Inch F 4.5  Newtonian.

Camera.  S Big ST 4000 XCM OSC CCD.

Exposures and Dates.  14 x 600 sec + 14 x 900 sec,   Dec 2011,  Dec 2016.

Location.  (Wiruna) Ilford N.S.W.
