NGC 1399 – NGC 1404

NGC 1399 NGC 1404.

Two large elliptical galaxies in Fornax are part of the Fornax Cluster at a distance of 62 MLY.

NGC 1399 being the largest and brightest. (bottom middle)

These two galaxies contain thousands of globular clusters. There are numerous background galaxies scattered, including many tiny ones shining through the haloes.

Telescope.   16 Inch F 4.5 Newtonian.

Camera.   S Big ST 4000 XCM OSC CCD.

Exposures and Dates.  10 x 900 sec + 11 x 900 sec.  Dec 2013,  Nov 2017.
