NGC 300

NGC 300.

NGC 300 is a large face-on low surface brightness spiral galaxy in Sculptor. NGC 300 has a stellar nucleus and prominent red HII regions across the galaxy, also bubble nebulae.

NGC 300 is also a member of the Sculptor Group and is at a distance of 6.5 MLY.

There is a small group of distance, tiny, reddish coloured galaxies (10 o’clock position). Three slightly larger galaxies which seems to be in the process of interacting (11 o’clock position), makes this image interesting in showing contrast and enormous  galaxy  distances, from the very close to the very distant.
