NGC 3115 (Spindle Galaxy)

NGC 3115 is a lenticular galaxy in Sextans at a distance of 32 MLY and seen almost exactly edge on. Like most lenticular and elliptical galaxies NGC 3115 holds little gas and dust to form new stars. The vast majority of its stars are very old.

Telescope.  16 Inch F4.5 Newtonian.

Camera.  S Big ST4000 XCM OSC CCD.
