NGC 3621

A spiral galaxy in Hydra at a distance of 22 MLY. The winding spiral arms have many  luminous young star clusters and dust lanes. NGC 3621 has a flat disc that has no central bulge and is believed to have a system of 3 black holes at the central region. Very faint extensions to the spiral structure extends out way past the main galaxy.

Telescope.  16 Inch F 4.5 Newtonian.

Camera.  S Big ST4000 XCM OSC CCD.

Exposure and Date.  12 x 900 sec + 11 x 900 sec.  March 2013, Apr 2016.
