NGC 6164 – 65.

A bi- polar nebula with a Wolf-Rayet,very hot, very bright central star. This unusual star is only one of about 300 in the Milky Way.

The star has blown all the gas away from its vicinity.

This nebula has various shells of nebulosity from previous eruptions, and is about 6 LY  from end to end.

Telescope.  16 inch F4.5 Newtonian.

Camera.  S Big ST 4000  XCM OSC CCD.

Exposure & Time.  12 x 600 sec, 14 x 900 sec.  July 2012, Aug  2013.
