NGC 6302 (Bug Nebula)

A bipolar planetary nebula in Scorpius with the most complex structure ever observed in a planetary nebula.

The central star, a white dwarf was only recently discovered by Hubble, very hot at 200,000 degrees K, with the gas moving through space at more than 960,000 KPM.

Telescope.   16 inch F4.5 Newtonian.

Camera.   S Big ST 4000 XCM OSC CCD.
