Abell 7

Abell 7

Abell 7 is a very faint ancient planetary nebula in Lepus at a distance of 1800 light years.

It has a generally spherical shape and a complex structure.

Abell 7’s large size, at an estimated 8 light years across and its 20,000 year age accounts for its faintness as its material is gradually dispersing into space and eventually will disappear from view.
