Antares & NGC 6144

Antares is the red M1 supergiant star in Scorpius at a distance of about 600 LY and an estimated age of only 12 million years.

NGC 6144 is the small globular cluster (bottom left) poking through the yellowish dusty regions of Antares. NGC 6144 is at a distance of 30,000 LY making it about 4 times more distance than the well known globular cluster M4.
