Gum 20  (RCW 36)

Gum 20 is an emission nebula in the constellation of Vela. Gum 20 is only one of many Gum nebulae, all part of a huge, approx. 40 deg complex area of nebulosity in the constellations of Vela and Puppis, and the left over debre from a supernova in the distant past.

This nebulosity is named after discover Australian astronomer Colin Stanley Gum.
