NGC 2736. (Pencil Nebula)

NGC 2736 is a small isolated section of the Vela Super Remnant left over from a supernova explosion about 11,000 years ago. NGC 2736 is moving through space at about 500,000 kilometres per hour.

The Pencil Nebula is about 5 light years long and 800 light years distant in the constellation of Vela.

The whole field of view is covered by faint nebulosity associated with the Vela Supernova Remnant.
