NGC 602

NGC 602

NGC 602 is a bright very young open cluster of stars in The Small Magellanic Cloud. Shock waves and radiation has sculptured this nebula into this striking shape and triggered star formation. The distance to this interesting nebula is about 196,000 light years. There is an extremely faint broad tail of material extending away from the nebula towards the bottom right.
