NGC 6164-65

A bi-polar nebula with a very young, hot O type central star in the constellation of Norma. This rare and unusual star is only one of only a few of its type in the Milky Way, and is at a distance of 4200 light years.

The star has blown all the gas away from its vicinity and has various shells of nebulosity from previous eruptions and is about 4 light years from end to end.
